Simple way of detecting eSIM capabilities:

  • dial *#06# to check if you could find EID on the screen

  • Download any eSIM provider app (with eSIM auto-detect capability) - it will immediately detect if your phone supports eSIM when you try to install a plan.

*iPhone Air is Apple’s first globally eSIM-only iPhone (now available in Hong Kong (China)),meaning there is no physical SIM card tray in any market. This move is a significant step towards a fully digital SIM future, enabling simplified connectivity and eliminating the need to swap physical cards for international travel.  

 

*On iPhone 13 and 14 models, you can have two eSIMs activated at the same time.

 

*iPhones from mainland China and iPhone devices from Hong Kong and Macao (except for iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone SE 2020, and iPhone XS) don’t have eSIM capability.

 

*iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max are not compatible with physical SIM cards in the USA.

 

*iPhones from mainland China and iPhone devices from Hong Kong and Macao (except for iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone SE 2020, and iPhone XS) don’t have eSIM capability.
